The Wild Atlantic Day

The Wild Atlantic Day

We provide pick up at your accommodation (in Ennis and surrounding areas). We like to get started before 10am at the latest, but usually we are on the road by 9am.

time on tour

Approximately 5 hours. This varies with each group we meet but we like to get people home in the mid-afternoon. (That said, the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Please, it’s your day, take your time!)

Group Size

We take 4 people per tour. For now, our award-winning tours are small. We are growing, but the best things take time!

We take all visitors from the age of 12 up. We’ve had people of all cycling abilities and they’ve had wonderful days catered to their pace and interests. Trust me, you can do it!

The Wild Atlantic Day

If you only have one day to try to pack in as much of Clare’s Wild Atlantic Way, then look no further! With West Coast Cycle Tours you will be taken right to the very heart of Clare’s unique and beautiful Burren region. Take your pick of cultural and heritage sites to visit, from the Burren Perfumery, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Corcomroe Abbey and, of course, the world famous Cliffs of Moher!

Jamie, the falconer, takes his time to show people around and answer questions at the Birds of Prey Centre

“I’d safely say, one of the best day trips I’ve had anywhere! With spectacular scenery, hidden gems of the Burren around every corner and Enda’s informed and relaxed guidance all day – it really was fulfilling. Thanks again Enda!”

Rolling down towards Doonagore Castle and Doolin on the Wild Atlantic Way!

Begin the day by hiking the unusual and beautiful Mullaghmore trail, learn about the other-worldly rock formations and take in the spectacular views that await you at the top! Kick your friend in the arse outside Fr. Ted’s House! Visit Ireland’s oldest working perfumery in the Burren and enjoy their fabulous tea-rooms. Take in a leisurely downhill bike ride towards Ballyvaughan and Galway Bay. View the ancient stone tombs of Poulnabrone, be greedy and reward yourself at Hazel Mountain Chocolate, one of the world’s most remote chocolatiers! Gently wheel along the Wild Atlantic Way now as you make your way past the iconic Black Head Lighthouse, stunning Fanore beach (Fr. Ted fans will catch a glimpse of the famous campsite!) Take your time, stop for tea, coffee and cake at your leisure – the support vehicle is always on hand if the legs grow tired!

Finally, after admiring the views from Doonagore Castle, you’ll begin a walk that rivals anything else like it in the world – The Cliff Walk. With the wild Atlantic pounding the rocks on your right, you’ll make your way along the path to the most incredible place in the world to sit, relax, ponder and take in a magnificent sunset!

The Wild Atlantic Day with West Coast Cycle Tours is simply unforgettable!
