Just when you think you’ve seen the Burren and Clare’s Wild Atlantic Way at their most amazing and from every angle, someone comes along and improves everything! For West Coast Cycle Tours it has always been a dream to produce an inspiring and beautiful promotional video that touches on the very best of what our peaceful little corner of the world has to offer. Well, it’s happening…
At the risk of sounding dramatic or overly poetic (well outside my comfort zone!), video producer Kev L Smith and I felt it was important to work off a theme, which would better focus the piece. After some thought, the idea of the title “be:” struck me as being perfectly appropriate.
To explain, our tours are not about cycling. They are not about pushing your physical limits. They are not about endurance or setting records. At West Coast Cycle Tours, we design tours around the ability of each group that comes our way. We simply want people to be at ease. To be comfortable. To be together. To be awestruck. To be happy. To be. Just, to be.
Our video is an effort to express that message as best we can.
And what a day we had shooting! Huge thanks must go to the merry band that helped us out at different stages of the day. We had Brian, Damian, Colm, Ciara, Grace, Orla, Christine and Gary along for different sections and for their help I am very grateful. My good friend Padraig stayed for the whole day (though he wasn’t given much of a choice!). We endured all types of weather in the morining, but the day settled and I hope you agree, from the stills you see on this blog, that we got some amazing images of the Burren, The Cliffs of Moher, Clare’s Wild Atlantic Way, Mullaghmore and Corcomroe. None of this would have been achievable without the professionalism and hard-work of Kevin L Smith of KevLSmith Productions. Check out his work and his previous videos on his site, really top class stuff!
Right now, we await the finished product.
