Photography On Your Wild Atlantic Way

The west coast of Ireland, whether stormy or calm, with its dramatic Atlantic coastline and rugged, sheer cliffs provides a beautiful backdrop to any photograph. However, when you’ve got a photographer with extensive knowledge of the area, a great eye for detail and a depth of experience behind the lens, you’ve got a recipe for some stunning images!

Meet David. He is the man behind many of the images on the West Coast Cycle Tours website (the rest being a mixture of personal photographs and pictures taken by groups). A young man from West Clare with a background in outdoor pursuits and travel, David Olsthoorn is fast becoming one of the most talked about and talented photographers of his age. Landscape and surf photography are a passion of his, while his wedding photography is winning him many, many admirers (both in Ireland and overseas). Personally, I cannot rate him any higher and found him to be a pleasure to work with, while his images surpassed expectations.

To check out his work or contact him, simply visit his website www.davidolsthoorn.net. You will be blown away!

However, while we can’t all be as talented as David, we can try! To help you capture some really intimate and memorable photography on your Wild Atlantic Way, West Coast Cycle Tours will provide you with a GoPro Hero3+ (Silver Edition). This will come with stand, extension pole and various other mounts. After a very quick lesson, you will soon be shooting some incredible videos and capturing some stunning images of your cycle tour along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way! (Download the GoPro App).

Also, if you are a budding or experienced photographer feel free to bring along some of your equipment. We will provide safe-keeping, while the Cliffs of Moher, Poulnabrone Dolmen, The Burren Perfumery and Mullaghmore will provide the inspiration!
